A cold, overcast, Saturday morning at Silverstone is NOT the recipe for an ideal motor-sport week-end (but its usually par for the course!). The drizzle abated, the track dried out after Qualifying and the race was run in excellent conditions.
However, in a mixed field of anything from Alfa to Volkswagen (with US muscle cars dominating) the Jaguar Mk2 3.8 that WinSpeed Motorsport run for Simon Drabble showed, for the first time in our development programme, the `stuff` of which it is made, its capability………and potential!
When `our` Jaguar finished 3rd in Class we were all very happy! (particularly the guy who was `gifted` 2nd in class when Simon waved him past on the last lap……. not realising he was a direct competitor….but `hey ho` as they say!)
`Twas A Good Day Out………Next week-end: The Donington Classic….watch his space: a major event with the Jaguar again and also the Sabre 6! Happy Days…..
