SOLD SOLD SOLD Since 1988 Beacham of New Zealand has been associated with high quality bespoke Jaguar restorations and dramatic up-grading particularly of the Jaguar Mk2.
They are so rare that they are almost mythical – how many have you ever seen – but the Beacham brand has gone from strength to strength.
We, at WinSpeed, have been associated with Beacham for twenty years and we have known this particular car and its two owners since 2005.
Based upon a 1967 example, this car on offer has been re-engineered to take the 1990s 4.0 AJ6 power plant and its associated `J`- Gate Automatic Gearbox. And what a good marriage it is. The fuel injected AJ6 engine is exceptionally smooth and quiet, providing instant performance when required. The 4-speed Automatic `J`- Gate gearbox, with Sport mode, transmits the power beautifully to the original live rear axle. Steering is by power assisted Rack & Pinion.
It`s when you sit within the subtly modernised interior – echoing the X-300 Saloons of 1990s – that you realise what an astonishing car this is. A more modern ambience, but still possessing the charm of the original concept. Finished in Biscuit leather the interior is fresh and Unstuffy! The seats have electric adjustment, the doors have central locking and, joy of joys, it is fitted with air conditioning.
In Opalescent Blue what a terrific appearance the car has! Perfect panel gaps; open rear wheel arches redolent of the famous Coombs cars; Triple-laced competition Chrome Wire Wheels and doors that shut with a satisfying `clunk`.
So – here we have a very special Jaguar Mk2, restored and modernised by Beacham of New Zealand, known to the owners of WinSpeed for the past 17 years. Being sold once again with complete confidence.
