£92,500.00
Finished in opalescent Silver Grey with contrasting Old Red interior trim and Dark Blue hooding, this magnificent XK140 Drophead Coupe has to be amongst the very best examples of this successful Touring Jaguar sport-car available on the market to-day.
Fully restored by the late and legendary John Brown (of his company Leaping Cats) between 2021 and 2024 at a cost of £140,000, the entire process is fully documented with supporting invoices and detailed images.
The car drives absolutely beautifully with its 3.4 Litre engine and Moss 4-Speed gearbox with Overdrive on 4th. It possesses, however, certain desirable upgrades such as disc brakes all round, electric Power Steering, Alternator and electronic ignition.
The Jaguar Heritage Document indicates that it was originally built for the UK Home market in Right Hand Drive in October 1955 and Registered in February 1956. The history file also contains its 1965 Green – ‘Continuation’ – Log Book in which it shows that the colour was changed to Silver Grey in 1969. Its original colour was Pearl Grey with Red trim.
The XK140 Drophead Coupe is widely regarded as being amongst the most desirable of all post-war Jaguars, combining the beautiful shape of the preceding XK120, with greater interior space and, most importantly, Rack and Pinion steering.
With the numerous professionally organised Rally Tours available today, this outstanding example would be the most ideal choice.
Another outstanding Classic Jaguar from WinSpeed of Guildford.
