s the 50th Anniversary of the immortal and iconic XJ6 is celebrated this year, it was serendipity that WinSpeed of Guildford has just acquired a one owner XJ6 Series 1 originally supplied in 1973 by Coombs of Guildford!
Although requiring recommissioning, this rare and much-loved 2.8 Litre example, with Manual/Overdrive gearbox, is extremely original and unmolested – and that is hard to find in this day and age. It has a fascinating history as well and is a testament to one man`s determination to succeed. Having arrived, penniless, in the UK with his wife, as emigrees from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, he settled in Guildford and just 16 years later owned a house in town and bought this brand new Jaguar! Some feat!
We are pleased to celebrate 50 years of the XJ6 and also recognise and preserve the fruits of one man`s labour from adversity.
